Musiq Concrete - translating from French into ‘concrete music’ or ‘real music’, it’s the term applied to an early technique of electronic music where segments of magnetic tape were manipulated, cut and respliced, and then for want of a better description, abused by having it large!

And with admiration for these humble origins we thought…

Surly the time is right for an unchartered flight towards new clubbing altitudes, a fresh nocturnal stratosphere, craved vehemently, by London, we know? A place difficult to reach successfully and yet once there spiritual; together we boldly recognise this primitive process as the origins of – RAVE!

So off to work they went, creating a new party, something they called call their own, and when a family’s portfolio is as robust or electric as is the Orange Group household; pioneers of the AREA, FIRE and LIGHTBOX institutions, they knew something special was about to happen. So join us on an embarkation of a pioneering clubbing experience unfolding – ladies and gentlemen this is real music…

Inspired by the forefathers of synthesised exuberance; Musiq Concrete is the burning penchant for big room innovation, the corner stone of every beep and every thud is rooted in the celebration of eclecticism. The vision is simple yet undefined - to propel the ever blurring boundaries of electronic music into smudgedom, so that no ‘dance floor toffs’ or ‘v.i.p boffs’ can say, ‘this is or isn’t really hot right now’. NO SIREY, the disco connoisseurs won’t be shitting on our party!

While haggard dance floors struggle to define themselves in ever restricting monotones, we say, why define your self at all? Is the party not at its best when thick rolling melodies clash in the face of unexpected b lines and tangy vocals slice smoothly through deep and groovy tempos? Is the message not better understood when international talent communicates in the unifying language of electronica? Is the party not greater for a crowd that care not for structure? We say; let the party relish in the magic of originality, Musiq Concrete where creative flair is God! Why close yourself off to the delights of everything, when everything is everywhere?

This February Musiq Concrete welcomes stellar production talent and highly acclaimed musical finesse to London for our second edition of bassy fun. Musiq Concrete is THE party where something old, something new and something in between, is cut, respliced, then for want of a better description, abused by having it large!
